This last couple of months have been very busy for me. I have
missed my commitment to provide updates to you on the progress of Erica, Amanda
and Christina toward receiving their sacraments. I can tell you that
there have been powerful stories to tell during that time. I hope to have some
time next month to put some thoughts and stories into text but until then I can
only apologize. And thank you for continuing to pray for these ladies and
their sponsors.
Tonight, Bishop Kicanas will confirm all three in a mass at
the prison. I ask, and they ask that you would keep them in your thoughts and
prayers as they make this Commitment of Faith. Read about them in the
upcoming June issue of the Diocesan New Vision Online. There should also be some pictures.
All three women are single mothers who have never been married.
Erica told me last Wednesday that she feels like she’s marrying God. I
told her that Yes, in many ways it is like marrying God… as part of the
ceremony they even have to say “I do” (to the various parts of the Creed.) I
asked her how she felt. She just smiled and said, “I’m ready!”
Thank you once again on their behalf for the many prayers.
God bless you all.
